Weekends are made for productivity

It’s not always to easy to motivate myself on the weekends especially after working all week. I mean who really wants to be working after all the time and being miserable πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ

– I do cause I have goals to accomplish, at least that’s the new mindset. If I want to live the life I deserve got to work towards it “the goal dont work unless you do” and I realized a long time ago perfecting my craft doesnt make me miserable it challenges me to find ways to figure this out. With every garment I’m learning new techniques & lessons; “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10000 ways that won’ t work.”Thomas Edison

With all this being said I am so proud of the progress I’ve made and happy with this latest fitting.

I figured out ways I’m going to tweak the finished product. But I’m a bit clueless how I want to create the top. I was originally thinking an off-the-shoulder crop top, but I’m liking the bandu too….

You have a goal or dream progress is key. What wins did you accomplish this week?/ What are you working for the week ahead?

The Joy of Completion

#tbt (well it’s not Thursday anymore, point just the same)

Old habits diehard, but I can’t expect those same habits to open new doors either. I’m slowly accomplishing all the projects I have started & the simple quote holds true “There is joy in completion.” I keep that in the forefront of my mind whenever I get the urge to drop something & start a new project.

I have definitely taken necessary steps to ensure my Self-ccarries a priority in life and I’m starting to shed what doesnt work and unhealthy. Little bit of motivation that’s helping me along the way.

Mondays are for creating

Happy Monday Peeps.

Here’s to a productive & fulfilling week.Β #NoteToSelfΒ the plan don’t work unless you doΒ πŸ’ͺ🏾get active, create, & be blessedΒ #GoodMorningΒ 31960682_10102208254741987_8783270019388669952_oΒ I am very happy that I’ve been creating and productive. Pushing myself when Im not as motivated use to be such a task, seemed like a huge roadblock for me sit down and create. One think that helps me is literally putting things in perspective, nothing makes me cringe more than wasting time. Im absolutely frightened of being suck in the same situation a year from now with no type of progress. Another tip that helps is knowing myself and when Im most productive; soon I get up for about 2 hours, before I head to work and at night. Pretty much whenever its quiet with the less amount of distractions I am able to find my groove, and get to work. As well as listening to music, playing my favorite tunes just makes the work seem to go smoother, Im more relaxed and eager to get the job done.

What are some of your helpful tips to get Goals accomplished?

Happy Monday

Happy Monday Peeps

For this week I’m starting it off with the intention to stay focused on my goal. After I evaluated my organization skills, it led me to realize how much of my time that’s not devoted to mastering my craft or had anything to do with my passion. Which is so problematic, I made up my mind to limit distractions and find no excuses, just get to work. A technique that’s been working for me is working for 30-45 mins undisturbed. When I set out to work for a certain period it usually over flows 2 more hours of working undisturbed. It seems simple but it so true concentration and focus can only exist when distractions are eliminated. Which gets steps closer to manifesting the goal of completing this garment. This is House Of Goal after all, so I’m working towards pumping out more results

Have a productive and great week ahead, thanks for stopping by

2017 Intentions

happy-new-year-2017-with-glitters

So we made it, well into the new year and hopefully our new routines. I’ve been working diligently on shaking off a lot of bad habits I picked up over time. We’re about 3 weeks in so some may be starting to feel a bit sluggish and falling back into the comfort of old habits…. DON’T!! sure our comfort zone is a cool place, but nothing ever grows there.

magic-happens

For 2017 and beyond lets drop the barrier and live! Do something a bit challenging everyday, something to better us little by little. When we have a big task at hand break it down and focus on smaller portions it wont be as overwhelming. Β And before we know it that big task will be accomplished and we’ll have another notch under our belt.

Here are some things I be working on for the year.

2017 INTENTIONSΒ

  • Start to create garments for clients -Sharping my entrepreneurial skills
  • Improve and dedicate more time to my Illustrations
  • be a consistent blogger
  • get more familiar with my camera – taking a photography class, so ill be stepping it up
  • Focus on time management
  • Continue to be interactive with other bloggers

My goal for 2017 is to live without barriers and limitations i put on myself. I want to improve my focus and maintain my momentum on being proactive. So, feel free to stop in, share life experiences and let’s motivate one another.

Happy & productive 2017 everyone

Sweet 2016 🍨🍬🍭

image

As its the start of the new year, we have a tendency to view it as a starting page 1 in a new book. A fresh start, “New year, new me” mentality.

I view it as not a brand new start, but time to reevaluate. What worked the months prior on getting me closer to my goals. And makes adjustments where necessary. The beginning of anything can be difficult, especially when it comes to changing habits. Its way to easy to find myself in cruise control of old habits that didn’t really get me anywhere. Whether it be from procrastination, feeling unmotivated, what have you. I usually go the route I find comfortable because that’s what I know.

So since it definitely is time to shake things up a bit. Stepping out my comfort zone & staying out, more like kicking myself out where I’m the most comfy. Its unnerving & I know I’m going to be miserable {especially in the beginning}. But it has to happen, on the road to become a better me, it won’t be easy but it’ll definitely be worth it.

Here’s to making 2016 sweet 🍨🍬🍭

Drape Success πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„

I don’t usually post my progress with Draping because its so tedious & its a lot to try to explain over a typed text…… But some times when you do exceptionally well & surprise yourself, you just have to tell someone. Well all you someone’s I have great newsπŸŽ‰πŸ™ŒπŸ˜Š.

We were working on draping a blazer, & life has left me feeling a bit overwhelmed these past weeks. But I stuck it out {& so glad i did.} Gaining more motivation after each stage of the drape.

This was right after I created the lapel, but right before all the difficulty of the collar set in.

I’m draping a 4 panel blazer

Back view, with collar pinned & semi rolled.
I would have to say the part I found the most challenging was the collar.

There’s a fashion show coming up next month, thinking about constructing this blazer, or one similar. Because I’m so excited about the whole thing. I really want to see how it would like fully done & on a model.
